The Club has changed the position of three baskets at Parma DGC on Holes 6, 9, and 16.

These changes give the course two more par fours and increase the difficulty slightly on one of the easiest holes on the course.

Hole 6: White Basket moved near the original position. Blue/Gold tee, 660ft Par 4, White tee, 480ft Par 4.

The white basket, which was moved for the AFDO50 in 2023, has been returned to it’s more leftward position. The main reason for this is to make the Hole 7 Gold tee safely playable again, which makes that playable as a par 4. Long time locals will feel very familiar throwing power drives off the the White tee, and shots from the Blue/Gold tee will rely more on placement than on distance. There is no change to the short basket.

Hole 9: White Basket moved back and to the right in a newly cleared green. Blue/Gold tee, 745ft Par 4. White tee, 620ft Par 4.

The white basket, which played as a very tough par 3 without much separation, has been moved back over 200ft into a new green that the Town of Parma cleared for us (thank you Dre!). To reach the green for a birdie putt players will need to throw a drive that nears 400ft and lands on the left side of the fairway (a birdie drive for the par 3 red basket) and then navigate the trees which separate the two clearings for another 300-350ft. Once you’ve putted, walk straight towards Hole 10 through another bit of clearing the Town has done (drainage being installed as well) so that you are safe from incoming shots. There is no change to the short basket.

Hole 16: Short Basket moved back and Left. Blue/Gold, 285ft Par 3. White tee, 240ft Par 3.

The red basket has been moved back and slightly left to create more interest and shape from the both tees. Distance is not the demand, but to run the ace it will take a delicate hyzer that drops and fades at the perfect time. Too left or too early, you’ll be putting from outside the circle – or even rolling into the stream. Too right or too late, you’ll have several small trees to navigate on your putt. Unless of course you get lucky. There is no change to the long basket.
