Hey everyone! Conor here, Course Administrator.
One of the major initiatives of the 2025 Season is to install Lost & Found lockboxes at as many courses as we can, managed by volunteer Course Stewards.
We’ve all lost discs on the course and been frustrated by trying to get them back. Many times you never see or hear anything about that disc again, but sometimes they’re found by a generous soul who actually wants to return it to you! Are you going to pick it up from them, or will they drop it off for you? It’s not very safe to give out your address to a stranger, even if they are a disc golfer. You could meet up at a course, as long as your schedules have similar gaps and you live relatively close to each other. Well these are no longer your only options!
Disc Golf Rochester is stepping in to create the surest way to get your disc back, a lost and found lockbox managed by the Course Steward. If you’ve gotten a disc back from Shadow Pines, you may know how this works – it’s fairly simple. When anyone finds a disc on the course, whether it is inked or not, they should deposit it into the lockbox. The box will be emptied regularly by the volunteer steward and that is who will contact and coordinate with the owners to get the disc returned. The 10 Most Played public courses in the Rochester region are the main focus for this year, but if your favorite course isn’t on this list contact me (co*********@di*********.com) and we can work on it!
