Thank you to all of the volunteers that came out to Howell Road workday last night!
We made an incredible dent to the to do list. I showed off the work to the town this morning and they are excited for it, as well. Pictured below are some of the highlights of the work but not all of it. East holes 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9 are all looking cleaner. I am especially excited about the work that Joshua Hutchins and son, Scott Holmes and Kurt Domm did to create a natural arch backdrop for hole 6’s basket! Also, much thanks also to Chad Borden, Janet Cranshaw, Mike Pieri, James Egan, John Kelly, Ben Mulvehill and David Copp for cutting, trimming, and clearing.
We will need a little more work dragging some more trimmings into piles to continue to clean up the fairways. So, be on the lookout for more opportunities to help over the next few weeks. The town and club are coordinating on basket install days for once their field maintenance responsibilities subside. Exciting times! The East holes are currently marked and mapped in UDisc for those interested in exploring; the course is searchable in UDisc under the name “Howell Road Park”, but be advised to avoid any town crew doing machinery work.
